can visit, cannot stay
If China (or anywhere else) is a persistent danger to the U.S., the best way to undermine such potential enemies is to invite their best and brightest to live in the U.S. Bearing that in mind, Reason has produced a very revealing flowchart of what it takes to become a U.S. citizen. Absurdity aside, imagine how previous periods of U.S. history would have proceeded had this been the case in the decades prior to 1940. To the extent that danger exists to U.S. interests in the coming century, it seems all too likely that they will primarily be the result of our own short-sighted choices.
